Safeway International was founded in 1992 as a family business, and later transformed into a family with over 300 members, where experience and knowledge gained over time have shown us that progress never stops.

Through the flexibility to constantly adapt to the dynamic requirements of the market, Safeway has managed to maintain its position as an undisputed leader in food distribution as well as in traditional Romanian retail.
With a storage capacity of over 5000 pallets that can easily meet any challenge and special needs, with over 70 vehicles and vans and a complete logistics department, the delivery of goods on time and in optimal conditions has become a standard of Safeway which has led to gaining the trust of customers all these years.
After almost 30 years, Safeway has managed to become a reliable partner, an efficient collaborator and a promoter of innovative solutions.

The Company becomes Safeway International Impex
1997
New distribution branches are launched in Bistrita and Salaj County
1998
Safeway International moves to a larger warehouse
2000
The sales team specializes in two divisions: Retail and HoReCa
2003
The headquarters of the company is inaugurated
2004
Home Garden brand is created
2007
Safeway International becomes a Bossini franchisee
2010
Regional distribution in Transylvania is developed
2011
Another warehouse with a capacity of 800 pallets is built
2013
Safeway Pack is established, Aroma brand is launched
2015
A new warehouse with a capacity of 1500 pallets is purchased
2016
Home Garden receives a new image
2017
The Home Garden Supermarket chain is launched
2018
A new warehouse is built increasing the capacity with 3000 pallets
2019
The first TV commercial Home Garden is aired
2020
BEYOUTEA by Home Garden is launched
2021
A new branch is developed in Timiș County
